江西省自2001年开始实施公益林补偿试点工作，公益林面积从2001年的1900万亩增加到2025年的4987．2万亩（其中国家级公益林3264．6万亩、省级公益林1722．6万亩），补偿标准从2001年的5元／亩提高到21．5元／亩，在此基础上，将国家公园、国家级自然保护区和省级自然保护区范围内补偿标准分别提高至35、33和29元／亩，目前已累计投入财政资金181．75亿元（其中中央财政资金76．93亿元，省级财政资金104．82亿元），有效促进了全省生态公益林管护。
